Bedford Farmers’ Market opens despite severe thunderstorms

Severe thunderstorms rolled through portions of the state Tuesday. Strong winds knocked down several power lines, interrupting electricity to about 18-thousand customers.

Though the weather was severe it wasn’t enough to call off the farmers’ market in Bedford. After some initial wind, rain and lightning farmers picked up and officially opened the first annual Bedford Farmers’ Market. It’s one of over thirty markets operating around the state now.
